Ticket prices on Queensland public transport services will be frozen in 2021 to provide customers with certainty during the state’s economic recovery from COVID-19.

The freeze on ticket prices applies to all TransLink and QConnect public transport services across Queensland.

After two years of record public transport use in Queensland, patronage has been heavily impacted by COVID-19 in 2020.

However, patronage has grown since students have returned to learning in the classroom and workers return to the office, with the freeze on ticket prices to support the continued return of customers to the network.

The ticket prices freeze comes four years after the introduction of Fairer Fares, which has saved public transport customers more than $250 million.
