Windsor to Kedron (delivered with Airport Link)
Construction of the Northern Busway from Windsor to Kedron began in 2008 and is scheduled to be completed in 2012.
The three kilometre section of busway between Constitution Road, Windsor and Sadlier Street, Kedron is being delivered with Airport Link to maximise benefits and minimise local impacts during construction. The works around Federation Street, Windsor will also be delivered with Airport Link.
City North Infrastructure Pty Ltd (CNI) is managing the project on behalf of the State Government with BrisConnections selected as the preferred bidder to construct the project.
What will the busway between Windsor and Kedron look like?
The Northern Busway (Windsor to Kedron) includes:
- an elevated connection across Enoggera Creek and Lutwyche Road
- bus stops at Federation Street, Roblane Street, Truro Street, Sadlier Street, Lutwyche Road and Cremorne Street
- two architecturally designed busway stations - one at Lutwyche and one at Kedron Brook
- sections of driven tunnel and cut-and-cover tunnel from Stoneleigh Street to Norman Avenue
- on surface busway between Norman Avenue and Suez Street
- tunnel under Gympie Road from Stafford Road to Sadlier Street.
The section of busway between the northern end of the Federation Street connection and Constitution Road will be delivered separately as demand increases.
